Jo-Anne (Jo) Hales is the Community Engagement Project Lead for Biodiversity Pathways and the Wildlife Science Centre, collaborating with Indigenous communities, government, and industry for the purpose of building and leading collaborative biodiversity monitoring initiatives.

She is a member of Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS; Kamloops Indian Band). Jo received a Master of Science in Environmental Science degree from Thompson Rivers University studying the Great Basin Spadefoot, a BC blue-listed amphibian in the grasslands of Kamloops, BC. She has held her Professional Agrologist designation since 2012. Her work experience includes comprehensive community planning, research, and being the Environmental Specialist for TteS, overseeing the environmental process for the Land, Leasing and Tax department and species at risk projects. Most recently, she was the Communications Manager at First Nations’ Emergency Services Society of BC.
