Peter’s primary research interests centre around animal physiology and the impacts of human disturbance on ecosystems. With experience across Canada, he has worked with a wide range of taxa, including fish, birds, and ungulates. Throughout his career, Peter has sought to bridge the gap between Western and Indigenous knowledge systems. He earned his MSc from the University of Western Ontario, where his research investigated the interactive effects of invasive species and increasing water temperature on the cardiac physiology of lake trout in the Great Lakes. As part of the Wildlife Science Centre, Peter is currently contributing to the development of habitat selection models for caribou and is supporting various wildlife monitoring and management initiatives.
